Solution is #x=3# and #y=-8#

Explanation:

To solve #x=y+11# and #2x+y=-2#

one has to find value of one variable in terms of another variable from one equation and then put it in other equation giving us value of another variable. This when put in first equation will give value of the other variable.

Here #x=y+11# already gives #x# in terms of #y# and pting this in second equation we get

#2(y+11)+y=-2#

or #2y+22+y=-2#

or #3y=-2-22=-24#

or #y=-24/3=-8#

Hence #x=-8+11=3#

Solution is #x=3# and #y=-8#
