Write as: x5=y

Turn it round and we have the same thing

y=x5

Compare to y=mx+c

where m is the gradient. It is known that 1×x=x so the gradient m must be 1.

The slope is 1. This means that for every 1 along left to right the graph goes up 1.

The y intercept is at x=0 so

y=x5 becomes y=05

So the y intercept is at y=5

To write this properly you would present it as

y-intercept (x,y)=(0,5)
