You can live with only one lung, and it doesn't affect you all that much, although people with only one lung cant exercise as much as someone with two lungs can, since there would be a lack of oxygen being taken and transferred to the muscles. However, the lung actually expands to help compensate for its absent partner, so people with only one lung have about 70-80% breathing capacity of people with two lungs
