Remaining volume of the ellipsoid is (118pi)/3118π3

Explanation:

Volume of an ellipsoid with dimensions aa, bb and cc is given by 4/3pixxaxxbxxc43π×a×b×c, hence

volume of ellipsoid of radii with lengths of 22, 55 and 33 is 4/3pixx2xx5xx3=40pi43π×2×5×3=40π.

Now as volume of sphere is given by 4/3pir^343πr3, volume of hemisphere of radius 11 cut from this is 1/2xx4/3pixx1^3=2/3xxpi=(2pi)/312×43π×13=23×π=2π3

Hence, remaining volume of the ellipsoid is 40pi-(2pi)/3=(118pi)/340π2π3=118π3
