Secondary succession occurs when there has been some type of disruption in a habitat. There must already be something living there.
Explanation:
Succession is the predictable pattern of how organisms inhabit an area. Primary succession is when there hasn't been life there before like a new island created from volcanic eruptions. Secondary succession occurs where there has already been life for example when a fire burns a section of a forest.
