Thermal energy transferred can be given mathematically by,

#∆Q = ms∆T# where #∆T# is temperature change, #s# specific heat of material and #m# is mass of the material.

Hence, for a given temperature change happening due to heat transfer, a heavier object of a given material needs more thermal energy than a lighter one of the same material.
