Increase the shrubbery around the carbocation, and increase its stabilization.............

Explanation:

This stabilization is both steric, and electronic in origin (why?). #"Triphenylmethanol"# even produces a water stable carbocation, #Ph_3C^+#, which is strongly yellow in colour.
