# How do you evaluate arcsin(1/2) without a calculator?

$\arcsin \left(\frac{1}{2}\right) = \frac{\pi}{6}$
$\arcsin \left(\frac{1}{2}\right)$ means the angle whose sine ratio is $\frac{1}{2}$
As $\sin \left(\frac{\pi}{6}\right) = \frac{1}{2}$,
$\arcsin \left(\frac{1}{2}\right) = \frac{\pi}{6}$
