It is unlikely that GMO's caused swine flu.

Explanation:

While there are come (controversial) reports that GMO's (in the form of amylopectin potatoes) contribute to the rate of spread of swine flu, there is no evidence that GMO's caused swine flu.

As far as I have been able to determine GMO amylopectin potatoes only became widely available after 2010 while swine flu emerged as a serious threat in 2009.

GMO's may be a real threat but one needs to be careful not to link them to unproven outcomes.
