## Key Questions

Well, we may simply write out his Gas law....

#### Explanation:

$\text{The ratio between the volumes of the reactant gases and the}$ $\text{gaseous products can be expressed in simple whole numbers.}$

Now we have got to drill down on this definition...let us consider the formation of $\text{gaseous water:}$

${H}_{2} \left(g\right) + \frac{1}{2} {O}_{2} \left(g\right) \rightarrow {H}_{2} O \left(g\right)$...here the ratio ${H}_{2} : {O}_{2} : {H}_{2} O$ $\equiv$ $2 : 1 : 2$

..or the formation of $H C l \left(g\right)$

$\frac{1}{2} {H}_{2} \left(g\right) + \frac{1}{2} C {l}_{2} \left(g\right) \rightarrow H C l \left(g\right)$ ;1:1:2

...and this gas law supports the proposal that VOLUME (under given conditions) is proportional to the number of gaseous particles.
